About the Scheme
Brief
It is a flagship scheme launched by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to empower women handloom weavers. It provides affordable credit for working capital requirements to enhance their livelihoods and encourage entrepreneurship.
Objective
- To encourage women handloom weavers to access credit from banks for working capital requirements
- To promote sustainable livelihoods and self-employment among women in the handloom sector
- To provide financial support for working capital, such as for purchasing raw materials
Eligibility Criteria
- Exclusively for individual women weavers or groups of women weavers
- Applicants must be primarily engaged in weaving activities
- Possession of a working loom(s) is mandatory
- Companies and partnership firms are not eligible for this scheme
- Loans must be availed from Commercial Banks or Regional Rural Banks (cooperative banks are generally excluded)
Benefits
- A 7% interest subvention is provided on short-term credit, cash credit limits, and working capital loans
- The subvention is applicable for working capital loans up to ₹2.00 lakh, regardless of the total quantum of loan extended by the bank
- The benefit covers loans disbursed during the current financial year for a maximum period of one year
- The scheme typically does not require collateral for loans up to the ₹2.00 lakh limit
