About the Scheme
Brief
It is a flagship initiative of the Arunachal Pradesh government designed to empower farmers through a cooperative approach. Launched in 2018, its primary focus is the formation and nurturing of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to achieve better price realisation and double farmers income
Objectives
The initiative supports better prices through collective selling, promotes direct market access via agri expos and buyer–seller meets, and enables digital tracking of member farmers for effective monitoring and support
Eligibility Criteria
- All categories (marginal, small, medium, and large) are eligible
- FPO must be a registered body (under the Societies Act, Cooperative Society Act, or Companies Act)
- Must have an active bank account for at least 6 months
- Projects eligible are Organic farming, Livestock & Fisheries and Agri-Horti sector
Benefits
- Each FPO or society is provided a ₹4.00 lakh revolving fund to support recurring expenses such as purchasing seeds and marketing crops
- ₹2.50 Lakh is provided for setup & management
- Group mobilization: ₹1.00 Lakh
- Training for leaders: ₹0.90 Lakh
- Registration Costs: ₹0.20 Lakh
- Office Setup: ₹0.40 Lakh
- Direct selling through Agri-Horti expos and buyer-seller meets across India
- Funds utilisation can be for diverse projects, including organic farming, fisheries, animal husbandry, and other innovative agri-horti sectors
