About the Scheme
Brief
The Atma Nirbhar Pashu Palan Yojana (ANPPY) is a credit-linked subsidy scheme launched by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh in 2021. It is designed to boost rural livelihoods and promote self-reliance in the livestock sector by providing financial support to set up animal husbandry units
Objectives
To achieve self-reliance in the livestock sector by financially supporting commercial dairy, piggery, poultry, and goat farming, with priority to educated unemployed youth for sustainable rural livelihoods
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to individual farmers, SHGs, Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCS), and Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs)
- Must have suitable land for farming, verified by a local Veterinary Officer
- The applicant and any guarantor must not be a bank defaulter
Benefits
- 45% Government subsidy
- 45% Bank Loan
- 10% Beneficiary Contribution
- Individual youth can get collateral-free loans up to ₹1.6 lakh, while SHGs and FPOs can access up to ₹10 lakh
- Preference is given to individuals trained under the "Catch Them Young" initiative
- Beneficiaries enjoy a repayment holiday of 12 months to 4 years, depending on the livestock projects gestation
