About the Scheme
Brief
It is a government initiative designed to facilitate export promotion activities by providing financial assistance to exporters and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for marketing their products in international markets. It primarily reimburses expenses incurred on export-related marketing activities, such as participating in international trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, and conducting market studies
Objectives
- To encourage Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) to explore overseas markets
- To increase the participation of representatives of small/micro manufacturing enterprises in international trade fairs/exhibitions
- To boost exports from small-scale manufacturing units
- To assist industry associations/Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) in conducting sector-specific market studies
Eligibility Criteria
- Units must have a valid Udyam Registration/permanent registration with the Directorate of Industries (DI) or District Industries Centre (DIC)
- Eligible manufacturing Small & Micro Enterprises (MSEs)
- Registered exporters with Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) having an FOB value of exports up to a certain limit (e.g., ₹15-30 crore, depending on specific guidelines)
- Must have regular audited accounts for the last three years and be in regular production
- Specific provisions exist for Women/SC/ST entrepreneurs & entrepreneurs from North Eastern Regions
- Generally, an MSME unit can participate in no more than 2 events in a financial year
Benefits
- Reimbursement of up to 75% of to-and-fro economy class airfare for participation in overseas fairs/trade delegations
- 50% reimbursement of space rental charges for General category entrepreneurs
- Women, SC/ST entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurs from the North Eastern Region are often eligible for 100% reimbursement of space rent and airfare
- Total subsidy on airfare & space rental is generally restricted to ₹1.25 lakhs
- ₹2 lakhs per unit per event, depending on the focus area and guidelines
- Support for publicity materials, study tours, and anti-dumping cases
