About the Scheme
Brief
The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) is a flagship Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme launched on August 1, 2025, to boost job creation and formalise the Indian workforce. It operates through two main components: Part A for first-time employees and Part B
Objectives
- Job Creation: Target of creating over 3.5 crore new jobs by 2027
- Workforce Formalisation: Bringing informal workers into the formal sector with social security benefits like EPFO
- Manufacturing Focus: Special incentives to boost the labour-intensive manufacturing sector
- Financial Literacy: Integrating financial education for young first-time workers
Eligibility Criteria
- Aged between 18-58 years
Employee Eligibility (Part A):
i. Must be a first-time employee registered with Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO)
ii. Monthly salary must be up to ₹1,00,000
iii. Must complete a minimum of 6 months of continuous service
iv. Employment must have started between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2027
Employer Eligibility (Part B):
i. Must be registered with EPFO
ii. Thresholds: Must hire at least 2 additional employees (for firms with <50 staff) or 5 additional employees (for firms with ≥50 staff)
Benefits
- For Employees:
i. ₹15,000 Incentive: Paid in two installments directly via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
ii. Installment 1: After 6 months of sustained employment
iii. Installment 2: After 12 months, upon completion of a financial literacy course
- For Employers:
i. Monthly Incentive: Up to ₹3,000 per month for each additional employee for 2 years
ii. Manufacturing Bonus: Incentives extended for a total of 4 years for the manufacturing sector
