About the Scheme
Brief
A National Action Plan designed to provide professional skill training in geriatric care through empaneled government and private institutes.
Objective
- Bridge the gap between the supply and demand for professional geriatric caregivers
- Ensure senior citizens receive professional services for diverse needs, including medical conditions like Dementia and Alzheimer’s
- Train 100,000 caregivers over three years, including at least 10,000 from SC, ST, and marginalised communities
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an Indian citizen
- Minimum age as per job role; maximum age must be less than 40 years
- Minimum 10th pass (exceptions for 8th pass in specific cases)
- Must not be involved in any substance abuse
