About the Scheme

Brief
The PM Vishwakarma provides end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople through skill training, tools, collateral-free credit, digital incentives and market linkages.

Objective
- Formally recognizing them through certificates and ID cards
- Providing training to enhance productivity and product quality
- Improving access to low-interest, collateral-free credit
- Helping artisans access modern tools, digital payments, and broader markets

Eligibility Criteria
- Artisan/craftsperson in one of 18 identified traditional trades (e.g., carpentry, pottery, tailoring)
- Self-employed in the unorganized sector, minimum 18 years old
- Restricted to one member per family (defined as husband, wife, and unmarried children)
- Exclusions: Government employees and those who have already availed specific loans (PMEGP, MUDRA, PM SVANidhi) in the last 5 years are not eligible

Benefits
- Recognition: Issuance of a PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID Card
- Skill Upgradation: Basic training (5–7 days) and Advanced training (15 days or more) with a ₹500 daily stipend
- Toolkit Incentive: A grant of up to ₹15,000 provided through e-vouchers at the start of basic training
- Credit Support: Collateral-free loans up to ₹3 lakh in two tranches (₹1 lakh and ₹2 lakh) at a concessional interest rate of 5%
- Digital & Marketing Support: Incentives for digital transactions and assistance with brand promotion and market linkages
